Submissions

What are we looking for? Simply put, writing and images that evoke an emotional response.

 

We accept short stories, poetry, creative nonfiction, novel excerpts, photography, and visual art. Submissions must be e-mailed to submissions@brinklit.com. If you're sending poetry, fiction, or creative nonfiction, please attach your work in Word Document format. Please wait until we respond to your submission before sending us another. Please limit fiction submissions to 7,000 words.

 

What matters most is that your work is original, fresh, and polished. Please send only work you are proud of. Include a brief biographical blurb. Simultaneous submissions are okay provided you let us know that you are sending a simultaneous submission, and that you alert us immediately if your piece is accepted elsewhere. We will not consider previously published writing.

 

Brink obtains First North American Serial Rights to the pieces we select.

 

Submissions are open all year; consideration usually requires one to three months. As of now, we do not pay authors whose work we publish.
